Meeting Sunday, March 22, 2:00 pm in C103

Because of the generosity of St. Mark parishioners through the Tithing Allocation Committee, Haïti College Fund (HCF) has been able to support the medical education of Jean Gardimy Inel (known as Pierrichard) over the past 8 years. Now that he is graduated, Pierrichard is seeking help in order to establish a small medical clinic in the Les Cayes region (southwest corner) of Haïti.

Haïti College Fund is a small 501(c)(3) charity supporting post-secondary education in Haïti and does not have the necessary expertise to help Pierrichard achieve his dream. HCF is seeking a small cadre of St. Mark parishioners interested in guiding this ambitious project in the poorest country of the Western hemisphere forward.

An exploratory meeting for individuals interested in helping establish this medical clinic in Haïti will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 22 in Room C103 at St. Mark. Please call John Barba at 703-400-5758 or contact him at john.barba@haiticollegefund.org to learn more and to register for the meeting.

Haïti is going through very difficult times these days. You may have never thought of becoming involved in an international project such as this. But please know that helping Haïti is not a privileged activity: anyone can do it; you can do it, too. Please come to the meeting at St. Mark Catholic Church on March 22nd : in unity there is strength.

Finally, all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble. Whoever would love life and see good days must do good, seek peace and follow after it.  (1 Peter 3:8,10)
